RADC
-
Fictional identity for the Royal Danish Fine Arts Academy's Schools for Architecture, Design and Conservation (in my project under the acronym RADC). As the name suggest the institution houses three schools that each possess different qualities and values, so the issue was to create an identity that conveyed these values.

After researching and taking students opinions into account, I came up with a solution that made use of the old Arts Academy monogram in a new and edgy way, showing both traditional and modern values.
The very strict DIN-like display type is at places (most prominent in E, F, P and R) somewhat distorted. This as a way of showing a creative spark in an environment of order.

Lastly, the three chosen colors take basis in the primary colors (blue, red and yellow). Colors which in their essense are their own but go under the same whole.

Gemini typeface
-
Gemini is a modern geometric display type, inspired by art deco. It contains a fair amount of slabs that function as surprising connectors/ligatures in certain letter-combinations. This makes the typeface a very flexible one, as the user has the option to use these connectors by adjusting the kerning.

This display typeface so far comes in two versions: A 1-stroke and a 2-stroke.
Gemini, which means "twin" in latin, is a reference to the letters of the 2-stroke version that each has an extra stem incorporated.

Paper Cuts
-
Posters made for an exhibition called Paper Cuts, which was arranged by the Copenhagen-based creative collective ArtRebels. The theme of the exhibit was 'Forces of Nature' so my posters explore the graphic qualities of fire and water, stressing the dynamics of the hand-drawn shapes by holding them up against strict geometrics.

Wondair
-
In this final project at the foundation year at The Danish Design School, I was asked to make a visual identity for a fictional airline. Company-name and concept was also for me to figure out.

Wondair (wonder + air) is an airline, that takes its customers on a journey to the seven wonders of the world. The logo relates to the concept by consisting of seven letters, which are made with the rule that they had to have a beginning and an ending (an A to a B), like a flight-route for instance.
I also made seven pictograms, which would serve decorative and informational functions on the airplane-tails.

Visually, the airline brands itself through its conceptual uniqueness, use of color and extensive use of beautiful and very recognizable images.

Ulterior Motives
-
Art direction and artwork for the danish metal-band Cold Night for Alligators. The band wanted a cover that that did not just say "metal", but something more subtle. The final artwork is to show both the technical complexity and the organic flow of the bands music.
The concept was developed further with stage-banners.

Trees Rocks
-
School project in which I was asked to make a design focusing on the themes of nature and function. I chose to make a series of illustrations showcasing how rocks and trees can be used in a more graphic decorative way, giving these very practical natural materials (construction-wise) a whole new function.

Kourage
-
Logo made for a small parkour-brand named Kourage. The angles on the letters (around 45 degrees) resemble roofs of buildings and the urban landscape in which parkour takes place. Furthermore, the sharp edges, angles and heavy letters make the logo both masculine and "swift".

Various display type
-
3 different rather straight-forward display types I have designed in the past year. The first is inspired by Fibonaccis 'golden proportions'. The second experiments with high contrast-strokes and the last is a more illustrative folded type.

The Universal Zine
-
School assignment in which I was asked to make a design that took basis in proportional systems related to the human being. Fibonacci's golden proportions and grid systems were some of the inspirations we were given.

I chose to design a one-piece book, making it possible to read it in several different ways - to also make this necessary I designed an underlying grid that allowed text and images to "cut" spreads. This meant that you have to use the books "proportions" to read it properly.

I chose space exploration as the content since it related well to what I did, exploring space and compositions and how they related to the proportions of the media and the grid-system.

OTTOMAN
-
Type, logo and visual identity made for a nightclub named OTTOMAN, located at Dunkel in the heart of Copenhagen.
Inspired by the London club-scene, where especially Fabric has marked themselves, OTTOMAN wants to explore new sounds in electronic music and especially in Drum and Bass. They want to challenge people and give them something they don't expect.

This unpredictability is shown through the type, where randomly chosen letters has significant forms. Also, the letter o is designed in different variations, since it's a very central letter in the word "ottoman" - therefore it recieves a special "status". Lastly, I screenprinted a number of promotional posters and flyers.
